White dresses at Zara

The summer sales has started in London so I could not resist taking a peek at some of the stores to see if there are any good bargains.

Zara can be a hit and miss for me some time. Although they stock XS/6 in majority of their design, I still feel the fitting is not perfect for petite. Being short at just under 5" not many style at Zara gives that perfect fitting, because it more suited to the taller women.

I tried two white dresses that were on sale. The first dress (left of photo) looked big on me and the length was longer then I liked.

The second white dress (middle of photo) was a better fit in the fitting and length. But did not get it because I was unsure about the fitting on the top half of the dress for a petite person like me.

I ended up empty handed from trying white dresses to walking back out in my pink and black outfit. By conincident both items I worn today was from Zara a few years ago.

Pink Nails (Nail Inc London)

Pale colours are the latest nail colour trend for Spring/Summer 2015. But I am trying not to buy more nail polish until I have finish the ones that I have already got in my collection.

Last year I was given a set of Nails inc. 2014 spring summer collection which were inspired by the catwork. These are all high gloss finish which does not seem to fit in the 2015 trend of pale and matt finish.

Neitherless, I decided to give it a try with the palest colour in the set, which is the baby pink (there are no colour identity on each bottle). This is the first time I have use Nails inc. and my first impression was one coat is not enough coverage. You need minimum of two or three coats to get a good coverage.

It is high gloss finish as described on the box but I don't feel it is long lasting. By the end of the evening with two coats I did in the morning, two of my nails had small chips. This was easily covered by reapplying with a small dab of nail polish.

I decided to add some nail stickers on top that I brought from Superdrug a few years ago, to make the pink a bit more interesting, The outcome is some thing very girly!

Steak Night At Flat Iron

It is a steak night at Flat Iron which is a London restaurant that specialise in flat iron cut for £10. There are special of the day such as the flat iron burger served on St John bakery bun. This changed on the day but one cut that does not change is their flat iron cut.

Follow on from dinner we moved on  to another part of West End to have dessert. There I treated myself to an ice cream sundae all to myself. I do regret this because by the time I got to the milk chocolate it was too sweet.

I am fully stuffed from all the food that we had for a Saturday. It has been a food treat for me the last few days.

London Symphony Orchestra Open air classics 2015 (Trafalger Square)

It was a great experience to be at this year London Symphony Orchestra Open Air Classics that was held at Trafalgar Square. This year the theme was music by composer Dmitri Shostakovich. To be honest I have not idea about this composer and more familiar with Beethoven or Mozart. But it gave me the opportunity to learn about this composer.

It would had been nicer if the temperature of the weather was warmer, but looking on the bright side it at least did not rain Lucky we took the advise to get their early and thank you to friends who got as great seating near one of the foutain.

If you did not manage to make it this year then I have collated clips from this year performance by LSO.

We were cold after the concert that we headed on to chinatown for some warm team and food. I had a roast rice with soy chicken and roast duck.

Holding on......

Work in the office seem like it is never end and things are cropping up that just not going my way. It feels like things are starting to crash on top of me.

I some time would like to have some one to give me that shoulder to lean. Instead I have to tell myself to be strong and hold on. But how long can I hold on before it gets too much.

Banana Republic White Jacket/Cardigan

Recently, I walked in to Banana Republic to browse through their sales item in the petite section and found this beautiful jacket/cardigan. I loved it a lot but could not justify to purchase this piece. Even after discount it was still expensive to purchase, especially for an item that I don't need in my wardrobe.

I love the design of the different materials that is used. The material of the sleeves is like a cardigan but the front looks like jacket.

The whole piece is soft and light which would had been great to wear over a warm light breezing London. I don't think there are many days with weather like that in London, because it is still feeling quite cold.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Varnish

I love painting my nails but I don't always can find the time to paint them, so I am a fan of Rimmel 60 seconds nail polish. I have previously shared about these nail polish which is good when you are short of time to paint your nails.

My Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish in 405 (Rose Libertine) is coming to its life line, so I decided to do a contrast with another colour in the same range (203 Lose Your Lingerie). This is a very pale pink which reminds me of colours of weddings (and may be lingerie). The only disadvantage is this colour was harder to apply to get a smooth finish and it definitely was not 60 seconds. But it is still faster to dry then other nail polish on the market.

Rimmel 60 seconds are great and reasonable price nail polish if you short of time to colour your nails. but do not expect them to last on your nails as they chip really quickly.

Colour of Spring - Inspired by a pair of earring

For my birthday, one of my friend gave me a pair of beautiful earring as a birthday present. I really love the earring, especially the colours which inspired me to paint my nails in a mixture of dark and light pink.

The colours goes well with the Spring season, although London is still fairly cold. I am hoping the weather will warm up soon, so I can start wearing some lighter clothing and get out of my big fat Winter coat.

Free wheeling around London

Although the temperature or the weather is still cold, the sun was shining bring today, May be Spring is on its way. Hurrraaayyy!

The weather today was a great day to take a drive around London. But the roads on Sunday is never  quiet any more. I actually think it is the most busiest over the weekend now, with just lots and lots of traffic jams. It feels like playing dodge cars! However, I have to say driving today was exciting, may be because I do not drive often these days. It reminded me why I once love driving - the free wheeling feeling.

The top rings and pearl rings part of a stackable ring set (H&M), Flower ring comes in a set of three (Unfortunately, I can't remember where I brought them)

Ten Years of Service

I did not even realise it has been ten years of service. Time really does fly pass quickly which I always say, but it does!
Looking back at the last ten years it defintely has not been a smooth ride in many aspects of life. I have had my shares of ups and downs over the ten years - work, families and health. But the support I have had around me from colleagues, friends and families had helped me through those low points, as well being there to share those high points. Thank you!

Looking back to the past is not the scarest thing, but it is actually the future. The older I get, the scary it is to think of life. But I will carry on taking life step by step, and try to enjoy every moment. Hope you all do because life is precious - treasure it!
